Please help us provide dental services for nursing home residents in dire need of dental care but with absolutely no resources!

Thank you for visiting my GoFundMe page and taking the time to read my story. My name is Joefil and I am the Clinical Field Manager for G.O. Dental Care which is committed to providing an uncompromised level of mobile dentistry for residents at nursing homes in the comforts of their respective facilities. G.O. Dental Care got started after seeing the need, arising to take the challenge, remembering the love we have received, and wanting to fulfill our responsibility of bringing smiles to the faces of nursing home residents because they are our neighbors and our community. We operate under the mission statement of “Passionately Serve Nursing Home Residents in the Care of Their Oral Health with Respect, Compassion, and Love.”

Throughout my 4 years of working for G.O. Dental Care, I have certainly found it rewarding to be able to help out nursing home residents with my compassionate and dedicated team members. Because many residents in nursing homes deal with preexisting health issues, oral care often does not make it to the top of the priority list. As a result, many suffer from numerous dental issues such as poor oral hygiene, rapid teeth decay, infections, halitosis (bad breath), and severe gingival inflammation. However, these issues impact their ability to intake normal food, directly having an adverse impact on their overall health. This is where we come in and try to take care of the residents’ oral health. The smiles we see on their faces assure us with every visit that we are carrying out what we set out to achieve. Well, this is the case when the residents have some form of income or support from family members.

What keeps me awake at night is when we come across residents who have absolutely nothing – no source of income and no one to help out – and I realize these are the people that really need our help as depicted in the photos you see below. Although we provide a fair amount of pro bono services to help out this subset of residents, there are just too many of them for our company to be able to take care of alone. Our desire is to bring awareness of this dire need among the nursing home population and raise funds so that we can deliver much needed dental services to them.

So here is our pledge to you! With every dollar you donate, G.O. Dental Care will match your donation and put it towards treating nursing home residents who cannot afford dental care. The fee schedule for dental services provided to nursing home residents is dictated by Human and Health Services Commission (HHSC), and we strictly abide by those fees.
